At last we got out Stratco Garden Master Shed delivered and built today. It didn't come with anchors, so Dad will help me by doing that on Thursday. The shed looks great and matches the fence posts nicely. Lastly, the electrical will need to be hooked up to the shed for a light and powerpoint. But in the meantime, it'll be good to pack some stuff away that's clogging up our Garage!
Next, soil for the gardenbeds, then some plants!
Mum and Dad came by on their way up from Dunsborough on Thursday 1st March 2012 and helped out by anchoring the shed. When Warren comes back from work, he will then sillicone around the inside to stop water getting in.
This blog is to commemorate the building process and learning experience of building our first home in Hammond Park, WA. Both Warren and I are excited at not only owning our first home, but doing it together and building the life that we envision. Thanks for checking out our blog and we look forward to reading your responses to the blog entries!

We have lawn, oh happy day!
We got the lawn, chicken poop and fertilizer dropped of Friday morning around 9:30am and was straight into it, prepping the soil for the lawn. My brother Kristn came around 10am and helped us lay all the lawn. In the beginning Warren was doing all the fiddly filling in holes job, but in the end I took over. Those lawn rolls are heavy! Almost forgot to call Water Corp about the extra watering, but made it just in time! The lawn requires watering three times a day for 35 days. Feels SO GOOD to have lawn.... but now for some soil for those garden beds... stay tuned!

The startings to a backyard
From Thursday to Saturday last week, Ben White (Mobile: 0408 086 373) who did our extra paving, created our limestone garden beds and outline of our shed pad. I would recommend anyone who needs paving, bricklaying or even landscaping to use Ben as he is reliable, does a fantastic job, and will come back if anything goes wrong straight away.
You can really see the backyard taking shape now and feel how big the backyard will be. The concrete is being laid for the shed pad today, my Dad is coming around on Wednesday to install reticulation and on Friday the lawn will be delivered and installed. It's an exciting time, as our dog Chester will be able to run and play on the lawn, rather than a huge dirty sandpit it has been over the past few months. It also means we can plan for a house warming party!! This may coincide with my birthday party.
