Freshly painted Ensuite done in Solver 'Koala'.

Looking back at the Ensuite from the Toilet.

Toilet is the last room that needs painting now... apart from all the wardrobes, pantry and linen cupboard. Those we plan on doing at a later stage.

Painting Progress

Warren has been able to get stuck into painting since returning last week from Karratha. It's his intention to finish off all the painting that's left to be done in the house. This past week, he's been able to start and finish off the Bathroom and Nursery. The curtains are also up in the Nursery, we just now need to hang up hooks and clocks, and attach the nursery decal stickers. http://www.etsy.com/listing/63332824/tree-with-forest-friends-decal-set-kids

The next thing to do is the laundry and toilet in Solver's 'Sailcloth White', then onto our Bedroom, Ensuite and Toilet. We are going to use the 'Koala' in our Ensuite as well, and as a feature wall colour in our Bedroom. The Toilet in our Ensuite and the other three Bedroom walls will be 'Sailcloth White'.

Bathroom undercoat being done. Solver Paint colour is 'Koala'.

Bathroom finished with mirror re-attached!

Bathroom painting all finished with towel rail and light switch re-attached.

Nursery painted with Solver's 'Doeskin' colour and Curtains installed.

Build it and they will come

We've had some stormy weather recently and it seems to have attracted some frogs to our tropical garden outside our theatre! It appears there are at least two frogs, one slightly smaller than the other one.  They appear to be a type of tree frog known to the Perth and South West region; http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/adelaidensis/

It's been so pleasing to find out our tropical garden is attracting frogs, so much so, that we went out and made a little make-shift pond for them out of a black plastic salad bowl and some rocks. Almost every night I go out and see if I can spot them again, but it seems they only like to come out when it's raining. To be continued...

Finishing Touches

We finished off putting up the curtains to the study and theatre over the Christmas break. We managed to paint bedroom 3 and 4 as well. So now all is left is the laundry, toilet, bedroom 2, master bedroom and ensuite to paint. This will all be done quite soon as we have a baby on the way which is due on 10 August 2013!

Something we had discussed a little since moving in, is tiling up the back walls of both the bathroom and the ensuite where the towel rails are. We have enough tiles leftover, we just need to get some grout and adhesive, and do it. With Warren's new job, which has a roster, we are now a lot more organised on what we can achieve when he's home. He was able to finish off the tiling to the bathroom and ensuite over a couple of days with impressive results.

I also had my Dad around who is an electrician to install one of the many light fittings we have purchased. It was a little troublesome to install, but after a couple of hours, we were able to install the kitchen light.

We've added some artwork here and there around the house. There will probably be more added over time. Overall the house is becoming more and more homely and inviting.

Please note, these photos were taken on my phone.

Kitchen with new light fitting, drawings I made and framed and bar stools.

Dining room with artwork. We have a 4 glass pendant light fitting we are yet to install here.

Living room with artwork, photo frames, vase and curtains.

Study with curtains, his and her desks and artwork.

Bedroom 3 painted and needing curtains.

Bedroom 4 being used as a storeroom / sewing room all painted and needing curtains.

Front hallway with photo print from Warren's best man from our Wedding.

Back hallway with artwork from my Nan.
