We've had some stormy weather recently and it seems to have attracted some frogs to our tropical garden outside our theatre! It appears there are at least two frogs, one slightly smaller than the other one. They appear to be a type of tree frog known to the Perth and South West region; http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/adelaidensis/
It's been so pleasing to find out our tropical garden is attracting frogs, so much so, that we went out and made a little make-shift pond for them out of a black plastic salad bowl and some rocks. Almost every night I go out and see if I can spot them again, but it seems they only like to come out when it's raining. To be continued...
This blog is to commemorate the building process and learning experience of building our first home in Hammond Park, WA. Both Warren and I are excited at not only owning our first home, but doing it together and building the life that we envision. Thanks for checking out our blog and we look forward to reading your responses to the blog entries!

Finishing Touches
We finished off putting up the curtains to the study and theatre over the Christmas break. We managed to paint bedroom 3 and 4 as well. So now all is left is the laundry, toilet, bedroom 2, master bedroom and ensuite to paint. This will all be done quite soon as we have a baby on the way which is due on 10 August 2013!
Something we had discussed a little since moving in, is tiling up the back walls of both the bathroom and the ensuite where the towel rails are. We have enough tiles leftover, we just need to get some grout and adhesive, and do it. With Warren's new job, which has a roster, we are now a lot more organised on what we can achieve when he's home. He was able to finish off the tiling to the bathroom and ensuite over a couple of days with impressive results.
I also had my Dad around who is an electrician to install one of the many light fittings we have purchased. It was a little troublesome to install, but after a couple of hours, we were able to install the kitchen light.
We've added some artwork here and there around the house. There will probably be more added over time. Overall the house is becoming more and more homely and inviting.
Please note, these photos were taken on my phone.
